Can IELTS 6.0 be enough for Germany?
Yes, for some programmes. Other programmes require 6.5, 7.0, TOEFL equivalents, German-language evidence or additional proof. Always read the exact programme admission page before applying.

- Open the official university programme page.
- Check the language requirement and whether overall/sub-score rules apply.
- Check academic prerequisites and credit/module requirements.

Do not shortlist only by IELTS
A programme can accept your English score and still reject you because of missing subject credits, degree equivalency, GPA, prerequisite modules or document requirements. For master’s applications, academic fit often matters as much as language evidence.
What if your IELTS is below the requirement?
Options include retaking IELTS, using another accepted English test if the programme permits it, or choosing a programme whose published requirements fit your profile. Never assume a Medium of Instruction letter will replace IELTS unless the university explicitly says so.
